MQTT

A lightweight publish and subscribe messaging protocol over TCP, built for sensors and devices with little power or bandwidth.

Devices publish small messages to named topics, and a broker delivers each message to every client subscribed to that topic. Publishers and subscribers never talk directly, so a new dashboard or alarm service can be added without touching the sensors. It is an OASIS standard and a common protocol for the Internet of Things.
