CoAP

The Constrained Application Protocol: a small web-style request and response protocol over UDP for very limited devices.

It uses methods like those of HTTP, such as get and put, but with tiny headers suited to battery-powered sensors on unreliable networks. It is defined in RFC 7252. Where MQTT relies on a broker and topics, CoAP addresses each device as a resource.
