run task
An outside service that HCP Terraform calls during a run, before or after the plan or the apply.
In more detail
Run tasks connect tools such as security scanners or cost checkers at four stages: before the plan, after the plan, before the apply and after the apply. Each is advisory or mandatory, and a failed mandatory task stops the run.
Example
post-plan security scan, mandatoryRelated terms
- enforcement level — How strictly HCP Terraform enforces a failed policy or run task: from a warning to a block nobody can override.
- policy set — A group of Sentinel or OPA policies that HCP Terraform applies globally, to projects or to chosen workspaces.
