kafkasim
A small Python model of a Kafka cluster that the labs use where a real broker would take too long to start.
It models brokers, topics, partitions, replicas, producers and consumer groups with Kafka's real defaults, so a lab can stop a broker or rebalance a group in well under a second. Its command-line form stops and starts brokers next to the real kafka-topics tool. Everything it shows follows Apache Kafka's documented behaviour.
