EX294
Red Hat's hands-on exam for the Red Hat Certified Engineer certification, in which you automate system administration with Ansible on live machines.
In more detail
There are no multiple-choice questions: you get a control node, managed nodes and a list of tasks, and you write the inventories, playbooks and roles that meet them. Your work is graded by running it again on freshly installed systems and checking the end state, so only what your playbooks produce counts, not fixes typed by hand. It runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, and a current RHCSA is required before the certification is granted.

- playbook — A YAML file containing one or more plays, which together describe the state Ansible should bring a set of hosts to.
- idempotency — The property of an operation that gives the same result whether you run it once or many times, because a repeat run finds nothing left to do.
